Make The Best Oil-Free Oven Fries EVER!

One of the biggest misconceptions that stops people from embracing this way of eating and being successful at finally losing the weight and transforming their health is they think food will not taste good without oil. Until you have tried it, you just can't understand how this is possible, right?

 

So I want to lay out exactly how to bake up a batch of oil-free, spicy as you like 'em oven fries everyone in the house will be begging for!

 

 Vegan Cooking Level: Beginner

 

Ingredients

 

4 Medium Russet or Yukon Gold Potatoes

2 tbsps. Aqua Faba (juice from a can of chick peas)

Optional: Spices you like, salt & pepper

 

Tools

 

Cutting board

Sharp knife

Cookie sheet

Parchment paper

 

How To:

 

Step 1:  Scrub and dry potatoes. With skin on, cut the potato length-wise in half. Lay the 2 flat edges down on the board and cut 3 or 4 long  1/4-inch to 1/2-inch slices (depending on width of your potatoes). See photo above. All the potatoes slices do not have to be exactly the same.

 

Step 2:   Place potatoes in a large bowl. Add 2 tbsp. aqua faba and mix with hands to coat. Then, add all the spices you like (I like 1/2 tsp. - more or less -  of each: garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika, curry powder, salt & pepper). Use a large spoon or hands to mix thoroughly so all the fries are evenly coated.

 

Step 3:  Spread on a parchment-lined cookie sheet, so they are not overlapping and place in a 425 degree F. oven for 20 minutes. Flip when browned on bottom and bake another 15 or so minutes until soft inside and crispy outside!

 

Serve immediately!
